I've a/b'd my 1068's DACs with my Pioneer 59avi (through the external input). For music, I think the low end of the 1068 seems a little better defined (and the signal certainly seems hotter), but the mids and highs from the 59avi sound smoother and more natural to me, so I tend to listen using the CD player's DACs. For movies, I always use the 1068's decoders because they are way more flexible. jm2c.

Last night while cleaning my apartment, I went to turn my volume up on the 1068. I sent a electric shock from me to the 1068. The 1068 shut off. I had to turn the unit off using the rear on/off switch. We waited a few minutes the turned the unit back... -
Here's my story and I'm sticking to it.....
A couple of winters ago,my 1068 got hit with a jolt of static electricty.
It knocked out all my settings...later I found out the unit could not be turned on or off manually,using the standby button.Fortunatly,the remote control on/off button...
